Agent reviews are getting attention
Recently, Real Trends wrote a feature article in their TechTouch newsletter addressing the increasing importance of online reviews in the real estate industry.
Travis Saxton, Technology and Marketing Manager at Real Trends, referenced the 4 x 4 rule devised by his company. The ‘rule’ basically states that an agent with four or more reviews on the listing portals is four times more likely to receive leads than those without.
This is quite a powerful endorsement of online reviews. While the newsletter does have a focus on the US, Travis explicitly named RankMyAgent.com as a leader.
While this was certainly a compliment and recognition we are proud of, we see it as validation of our commitment to protecting the interest of both clients and real estate professionals. Specifically, Travis was referring to the way that RankMyAgent.com involves the client in the review process.
• The reviewer must create a verified profile and provide certain information that we will use to verify that a transaction actually took place (ie. property address, when the transaction took place. All reviews are based on firm or closed deals).
• Once submitted, the review is screened by our QA team. If any suspicious content is found (e.g.: it looks like a fake profile, or has malicious content, is flagged as fraudulent), the review will not be posted live and will be interrogated further. If it meets our guidelines, we then take the next step.
• The agent concerned is informed that there is a new review available. The agent must verify that a transaction took place by confirming certain details.
• Once verified, the review will be posted live.
We’re glad that the industry is taking note of our operations and singling us out as the example to follow. It’s important to us that authentic, user-generated reviews are made available on a neutral platform. We take several steps to ensure that the reviews posted are credible and come from real clients, and take great care in screening and verifying information before making reviews live.
Stay tuned – we’ve got some exciting things coming up!
